Up in London for a combined football (Swindon at Crystal Palace) and gig double, visiting a friend at Brunel University. Support Cropdusters were an unimpressive manic mess of folky punk stuff, but the Men They Couldn't Hang made up for it; ostensibly promoting new single "Island In The Rain", they nevertheless did lots of old material, including old classics "Green Fields Of France" and "Ironmasters". Marvellous as ever; I had a good old jig about down the front and got a sweat on as usual to the Men!
