Drove down with a couple of gig buddies, hitting the pool table, as is usual at the Bierkeller, while the utterly crap support band Happy Mondays were on.
Headed down the front for James, getting squashed up against the monitors for most of the set, but I didn't mind as James put on their usual action packed, quirky and thrillingly unorthodox rollercoaster ride of a show, culminating in a stage invasion during a breathless final encore "What For". Hung around afterwards and finally blagged our way backstage, getting set-lists signed by the band and congratulating them on a stunning show. Vocalist Tim Booth was a really nice bloke, despite being as wet as the proverbial haddock's bathing costume...!
