97 VOICE OF THE BEEHIVE, James Taylor Quartet, Bristol Bierkeller, Thursday 10 March 1988
Drove a carload down and met up with PG and his work colleague there, ending up playing pool, drinking beer and acting very raucously all evening, as is the norm at the Bierkeller! Completely ignored the support in the process.
Voice Of The Beehive were however well rocky, and much more strident and in your face than their flippant tuneful pop comes across on record. I rocked out down the front to a fine set, with the rocking "What You Have Is Enough" and a spookily splendid cover of The Comsat Angels' all-time classic "Independence Day" highlights.
