141 IAN MCCULLOCH, Wednesday 25 October 1989

Drove down late for this one, getting into the half empty Studio at 1/4 to 9 and thereby missing support the Corn Dollies. Oh well...

Echo And The Bunnymen's former vocalist Ian McCulloch came on early as well; his band The Prodigal Sons played well enough, and Mac's a little older than those heady Bunny days of course, but no less energetic, but really the set, culled mainly from his solo "Candleland" LP, only caught fire when he played classic Bunny track "Rescue". Still, a healthy enough set, certainly good to see him out performing again, and, "Rescue" notwithstanding, the LP title track and a cover of New Order's "Ceremony" (both encores) were the highlights of an overall good night out.
