144 THE WONDER STUFF, Eat, Neds Atomic Dustbin, Gloucester Leisure Centre, Wednesday 15 November 1989

Got the train down for this one and stayed overnight! At the gig itself, it seemed half the population of Swindon was here, so we stayed in the bar while both support bands, both difficult on the ears from our vantage point, were on.

The Wonder Stuff came on to "Leader Of the Gang", which got everyone in the mood for a good party, and they kicked some serious ass through a slick, professional, but rocking fiddle-embellished pop set based mostly on new LP "Hup". Vocalist Miles is playing the nice guy now, but the Stuffies' flippant side is still evident in tracks like highlight "Radio Ass Kiss". A fun night out guaranteed!
