193 THE POPGUNS, NBO'S, Swindon Link Arts Centre, Friday 20 September 1991
Had a few pints with Jared in the Queen's Tap before taxi-ing over to the gig, and carried on during the NBO's bloody godawful set - so much so that I ended up getting totally pissed!
The Popguns came on at 10.30 and really rocked the audience with their superb pop blast of fun and fizz. A weird cover of 10,000 Maniacs' "Can't Ignore The Train" and their own thrilling funride of "Waiting For The Winter" were memorable highlights of a set I nevertheless saw through the beer haze. Popped backstage afterwards and chatted to the band - well, slurred to them, anyway!
